myDIALS Version 3.2.2 Announcement and Summary
myDIALS version 3.2.2, available starting July 10, provides many new capabilities. The following sections identify some of the enhanced capabilities contained in this new release and recent releases:
General Capabilities
-
Dashboard Groups and Subgroups. In addition to the dial/ribbon/dashboard structure, we have added groups and subgroups of dashboards. This provides a further level of logical grouping if you have a number of business units, divisions or functional areas. View short video overview
.
-
Embedded Video Tips. These tips provide short video clips that highlight functionality to help new users quickly understand the myDIALS capabilities.
-
Dashboard Designer. This is an exciting new feature that allows an authorized user to easily modify dashboard contents and layout by simply dragging and dropping dials, ribbons, and dashboards from those available in the performance module or overall configuration. We have developed Performance Modules for NetSuite, Google AdWords, and for multiple functional areas such as Sales, Marketing, and Finance. These modules contain best-practice definitions of metrics, visualization,s and analytics for these functions. We will describe Performance Modules in more detail in an upcoming newsletter. Additional Visualizations
myDIALS provides powerful, interactive data tables and scorecards. View short video overview .
- Interactive Data Tables. Many people like to view data in a grid format in addition to visual representations. myDIALS now has multiple data table layouts that retain the same level of interactivity and alarm notification available in our other visualizations. Alerts are represented by a color on the appropriate cell and any notes are attached. You can select a cell and expand by its drivers or any relevant aspect of the data. You can also perform "what-if" scenarios and see the immediate results that change all related cells in the table.
- Interactive Scorecards. In addition to the typical scorecard features that show actual values, budgets/targets, and variance for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), you can also see alerts, notes, zones (stoplight type information), trends, and a Micro Chart. Like Interactive Data Tables, any cell can be selected and expanded for more detail. Even the individual points in the Micro Chart can be selected and expanded.
- View Source Data. Sometimes you might want to view the raw data records myDIALS used to aggregate and calculate the metric information contained in a dial. Authorized users can view the source data in a grid format and apply filters and sorts to find the underlying data records. If you have appropriate authorization, you can also add, edit, or delete a record, which can be great for updating records following a reconciliation.
Additional Analytics
myDIALS provides comprehensive analysis capabilities, including variance and correlation. View short video overview .
- Variance Analysis. Using lean principles of green indicating good performance and red indicating poor performance or an opportunity area, myDIALS now provides multiple categories of variance analysis including actual, relative, and waterfall. These quickly show you areas to investigate further.
- Correlation Analysis. By showing two metrics plotted against each other and a trend line, it becomes very clear if there is a correlation between the two metrics.
- Histograms. This provides the ability to view data categorized into groupings. It can be very useful for looking at the distribution of a metric across a series of ranges, such as Accounts Receivable Aging or a Quality metric.
